CoinLedger only needs "Read" or "View" access to import your trade history. This permission protects your accounts. Learn more about API access in this article here.

Step-by-Step Import Instructions

Step 1:

Log in to Bitrue account. In the top right corner, hover over the account menu.

Step 2:

From the drop down account menu, select API.

Step 3:

Next, select Get API Key.

Step 4:

Now, click Create API Key.

Step 5:

Fill in a name for this new API Key. We suggest including CoinLedger in the name for future reference.

Step 6:

After that, submit the form by clicking on Create API key. During this step, you may be required to fill in 2FA codes depending on your configured security settings.

Step 7:

Bitrue will e-mail you a link to continue the API key setup process.

Step 8:

Please check your inbox for the registered e-mail address on Bitrue, and then select the link.

Step 9:

Copy the generated API Key and Secret over to a safe place, and then, select Save Settings.

Step 10:

Navigate to the Import step of the CoinLedger app. Select Add Account then choose the Bitrue tab on CoinLedger. Click on Auto-Import then enter your API Key and Secret into the correct field. Then, click Sync Transactions.

When importing your transaction history via API, you will have the option to specify a start date for your import. This feature is designed to prevent duplicate data from being imported. You can access this feature by hitting the Import Settings drop down menu, as shown below, and then specifying a date for your import to start from. All transactions after this date will be imported. You should not do this if you are importing all of your transactions into CoinLedger for the first time.
