Important Note: You will need TurboTax Premier or Home & Business version of TurboTax to be able to successfully import your gains and losses.

Reminder: Please download your TurboTax Desktop-compatible CSV file before importing.

Step 1:

You can upload your trading information that CoinLedger creates into the desktop version of TurboTax so that you can complete your entire tax return.

From the Tax Reports page, select Tax Filing Software and then click to Generate the report for TurboTax Desktop (TXF)

Step 2:
Within TurboTax Desktop navigate to File > Import > From TXF Files

Step 3:
Select Other Financial Software (TXF file), then click Continue. If TurboTax doesn't prompt you with this screen, advance to Step 4.

Step 4:
Select Browse File and select the TXF file you just downloaded from CoinLedger. Once the file has been selected, click Import Now.

Step 5:
Confirm that the file appears as a 1099-B and click the Import Now button once again.

Important Note: The report generated by CoinLedger is aggregated across multiple cryptocurrency exchanges so the Financial Institution name is not set. This is to be expected and you may disregard the Needs Info? column and continue forward by clicking Done.

Step 6:
The import of your cryptocurrency transaction data is now complete once you get to this screen. You may now click Done and continue entering information for the rest of your return.
