If you used Binance.com before Binance.US was available and can no longer log in to your account from the United States, you do not need a VPN to get your transaction history. Binance's support team can send it to you through the live chat on their website. This guide walks you through the request, gives you a message to send to the agent, and shows you how to import the file into CoinLedger.
Step-By-Step Import Instructions
Step 1:
Go to Binance.com and click the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. You do not need to log in.
Step 2:
You can use the chat as a visitor. In the Binance Support panel, click Get Support.
Step 3:
Type "transaction history" and send it. When the assistant replies, type "agent".
The assistant then asks you to click the OK button to transfer you to a member of the support team. Click the button (typing "OK" in the chat window will not transfer you).
Your Case ID appears at the top of the chat. Note it down in case you need to follow up.
Step 4:
Once you are connected to an agent, let them know you need your transaction history file for tax filing purposes. You can copy and send this message, filling in your own email address:
"Hello, I'm a US resident, and I used Binance.com before Binance.US was available. I can no longer log in to my Binance.com account from the United States, and I need my complete transaction history for tax filing purposes. Could you please send me CSV files of my full account history, including my trade history (spot order history), deposit history, and withdrawal history, from the date I opened my account to today? My account's registered email address is [your email address]. Thank you!"
Step 5:
Once Binance sends you the file, import it into CoinLedger. From the Import page, select Add Account, choose the regular "Binance" option, then click Import File and drag your file into the "Drag and Drop Files Here" box, or choose from disk.
For a screenshot of each step, follow the Binance.com - File Import Guide.
Binance.com File from Support Limitations
Since this file comes from Binance support rather than from your own account, its format and how long it takes to arrive are up to Binance.
Before importing, check that it covers every year you traded on Binance.com. If any period is missing, contact Binance support again with your Case ID and ask for the rest.
If Binance's formatting differs from what our importer expects, the file may fail to import. If that happens, send us the file and mention how you got it, and we'll take a look. Alternatively, you can copy the transactions into our Universal Manual CSV template (guide for it here) and import them that way.
